I'm not sure 'infidelity' applies here, since the male Crusch mated with died shortly thereafter. That was kind of *why* she mated with him in the anime, at least, he was required to fight a battle he was guaranteed to lose, and she liked him, so wanted to at least carry his children forward for him.
