The 2024 Olympics in Paris are kicking off. The official mascots for this year's Olympics and Paralympics are these two anthropomorphic hat characters known as the "Phryges". During the French Revolution, hats like these were worn as a symbol of freedom. The Phryge on the left is the mascot for the Olympics and the Phryge on the right is the mascot for the Paralympics.
