While Zephyr does have feelings for Ion, the fact does remain that deep down, he is more of a straight man then he is not and much prefers the embrace and comfort of a female partner, more specifically a fox girl he has had a crush on since he was younger. Zephyr is someone who does want to start a family some day and Meeka does feel the same way and like Zerphyr, she has had a small crush on him since her younger days, thinking he was so cute being a more scared kid but growing up and maturing the way he did and the strength and bravery that came along was very endearing and inspiring for her that helped that connection made back then blossom into the love they have now, the two in the end were meant for each other
