h5. Fertilization of Egypt God Anubis with the head of a dog praying to the star Sirius for rain, he stands with one foot on either bank of the river, beyond the winged figure of Jupiter Pluvius. Based on an earlier drawing by Henry Fuseli, Blake made this work to illustrate Canto 3 of The Economy of Vegetation, part of Erasmus Darwin's epic poem The Botanic Garden.
