"The equipment of young wolf warriors differs significantly from that of their elder sisters in arms. While many mature Amazons can afford to wear a chainmail shirt, metal helmet, chainmail coif, scale/lamellar armor, quilted body/head armor, and other additional elements of more serious protection, the younger ones often have to go by with much lighter equipment, including simple cloth and leather garments, bandages, and elements of quilted armor covering certain parts of the body. In some cases, young wolf warriors have a honor to wear more serious elements of protection, including full quilted armor, mail coifs, lamellar armor, or helmets. The same applies to weaponry where the Young ones are given spears, daggers, light clubs, and simple tonfas, while the Elders expand their arsenal to include axes, sickles, bows, needles, and other additions. Amazons naturally accumulate more equipment as they mature, acquiring it either as trophies or as a reward for loyal service to their tribe.
A key aspect of Celtic Amazons identity is wearing the skull masks of their deceased kin. Only older wolves, upon reaching full maturity and earning their status through personal efforts, are authorized to do so, thereby demonstrating themselves as responsible members of society and worthy bearers of a portion of their tribe's memory. While masks are often associated with the warriors of Amazons that gets used as a full on part of their protective equipment the wolves of other classes that are not directly associated with warfare also often wear them as accessories to honor the memory of their loved ones or to highlight their status in society. Younger Amazons, who have not yet reached such heights, make do with paint and designs on their faces or homemade masks made from other materials imitating skulls or other shapes in order to emphasize their individuality and in desire to imitate their older sisters."
