La'nora grew up in an Amish-like clan and in that grew up learning how to cook on wood fire stoves. Moving to the city and eating mostly out of the Gun-Jack Cafeteria and simple sandwiches. She wanted to do something nice for Ed since he's been so nice to her and get all the supplies to make a traditional meat pie from her clan, however she had a problem with figuring out modern appliances. Not understanding the knobs with numbers on them and as a result turned everything all the way up and being used to her clans stoves and ovens being slower to cook. So she burned everything because she was prepping other parts of the Pie.

Nora hasn't had the best of times in her past, being from a hyper conservative village they didn't have modern cooking equipment like this. She's slowly learning how to cook from scratch again, A for effort.
