If someone had asked me a few month ago about Mykyta Sokolov, I would have said he was an attractive man, but he was no soldier. He's a model, posing for cameras and getting voted Sexiest Man Alive. He never screamed 'fighter' to me or really anyone. But that was a different time, back before Kyrzny invaded.

Apparently after his city was attacked on the first day and occupied, he slipped out and joined up with an army convoy, ready to fight. And from what I heard, he fought. I'm not sure how much is true but they say he snuck off and destroyed a Kyrnik supply depot by himself, and that was when he wasn't scaring them shitless by charging into trenches and fucking them up in hand to hand. If true, something tells me that he either has something to prove or nothing to lose, and I don't know which is worse. All I do know is that when they got back to base and he officially joined, the guys at the top made him the poster boy immediately, wanting him to stay in the capital so they could pump out pictures and memes to boost morale. The Hero of Vaskyniya, they called him. The problem was that he refused to stay and play soldier, he wanted to fight. I'm not sure what was said, but considering he's in camp right now, I assume he got his way.

It's been such a strange thing since he arrived. We're supposed to attack their line tomorrow to save a pocket of our surrounded brothers. So much hinges on this. We should be terrified, but we're not. Not since he's gotten here. Not since he's shared meals and stories with us, laughed with us, mourned with us. Tomorrow, we'll show them what it means to be Vaskyn.
