“...What are you here for?” asked the echidna after a while, breaking the silence.
“She called me, saying she has an Emerald. You?” Shadow asked back, glancing at the beefy echidna.
“A personal thing. We meet every year to see who's strongest. And it’s obviously me.” Knuckles scoffed, making a tough grin and puffing up his chest. Shadow, however, was all but impressed.
“I know she kicked your ass.” he said blatantly, making the echidna grit his teeth and stiffen up.
“Multiple times, ever since you were kids, right?” Shadow added, smirking a little.
“So, she told you…” huffed the Red Rad, folding his arms again.
“She did, yes. But don’t worry. Not everyone can be flawless, like me.” Shadow chuckled arrogantly, lightly punching the echidna’s shoulder, who simply grunted and stood still. After a while, Ana came to greet them.
“Privet, Knuckles! Privet, Shadow! “Keep it up! We’re gonna win!” Knuckles shouted as Shadow flew up and plummeted back down at full force with a Chaos-imbued Spin Attack. However, that’s when Gale started laughing. A genuine, hearty laugh which left Knuckles confused and a bit discouraged as he kept her in a chokehold.
