Winters Tale is an ancient alicorn, being considered a legend even back when celestia and Luna were young. He resides in a giant library far beyond the crystal kingdom, shrouded in snow and ice to protect it from evil forces. Winters Tale spends most of his life in a trance, his magic sustaining him while he observes and records every bit of history as it happens. He also controls the snow surrounding his library, able to make it cease or make it impossible to pass depending on the defenses necessary. During the rare times he is not in his trance, he’s reading pulp fiction books and drink hot cocoa. Despite being eons old, he’s barely past being a young adult mentally, as his brain is paused while in his trance. This ability to pause his aging is why he’s been able to live this long, remaining in a state of suspended animation during these trances. There are rumors that some books in his library can tell the future, or are filled with such cursed magic they cannot be trusted to anyone but Winter, which is why he always has a blizzard raging.
