Do you like my feet?\" At first I tried to write something simple like \"足が好きですか?\" or \"Ashi ga suki desu ka?\" I then added a stuttering \"な-なん!?\" or \"Na-nan!?\" to the beginning to make Basho sound more surprised and more casual, not using なに or \"nani,\" the more polite way to ask \"what?\" But since I haven't yet taken any Japanese lessons (the most I've done is teach myself hiragana and katakana), I knew my attempt would suck and wouldn't sound natural, and Basho deserved better. So I asked some other furries for help with the translation and got several different opinions!</p>\n\n<p><a href=\"https://www.furaffinity.net/user/talvitwister\" rel=\"nofollow ugc\">TalviTwister</a> suggested changing the end of Basho's question to ですね \"desu ne\" which makes it more like Basho would be asking \"isn't it so?\" and looking for agreement.<br>\n<a href=\"https://www.furaffinity.net/user/lelouchutsukukitsu\" rel=\"nofollow ugc\">Lelouch_Utsukukitsu</a> suggested でしょう \"deshou\" to make it more of a direct question, and also mentioned that while Japanese tweets I read online may sometimes drop the か particle and just use English question marks, that's just an internet convention and using か at the end of a question is still \"proper\" Japanese.<br>\n<a href=\"https://www.furaffinity.net/user/lu123\" rel=\"nofollow ugc\">Lu123</a> gave me a couple different translations that are more casual sounding like \"足が好きでしょ？\" \"Ashi ga suki desho?\" a similar phrase to what Lelouch gave, or just simply \"足好き?\" \"Ashi suki?\" He also said that \"な-なん!?\" might sound too shocked and Basho's face would have to be redrawn to look more surprised to fit the expression.
