You're actually talking to someone who studies philosophy and happens to literally have a Philosophy book within arms' reach, this isn't new to me. Second, you completely failed to actually understand what those philosophers were talking about. For example, Plato made a point that words could have natural or conventional meanings; However, the point to take away was the words can't mean 10 different things at the same time, this would cause mass confusion. The point was NOT that words MUST have one singular, strict definition. Definitions are literally DESCRIPTIVE, not PRESCRIPTIVE, meaning they describe something and the definition itself can change over time. We're talking about BEFORE Tom ever got up in Boris' face. It also doesn't matter, the violence had literally nothing to do with the way Boris talked about Tom (see: Page 15). He clearly had a dislike of Tom simply for being a hybrid, and was making generalized claims such as, \"Everyone knows wolves have no bite inhibition!\" This is bigoted behavior. I don't know what else to tell you.\n\nThat is not to say that Boris is a bad person, at least not overall, as the author seems to be setting up this world to where there is probably indoctrination to HAVE an aversion to the other side. (Perhaps wolves against dogs, for example). It might not necessarily be their fault for having these feelings if society hammered them into their heads from the time they were little, but that doesn't make the actions and words spoken by Boris in page 15 any less bigoted. Parker is almost certainly not a straight-cis person, and I could totally see (in an alternate world) where propaganda like this could spread against such people as it does IRL. Perhaps there were protests (a huge current event type of issue and talking point, at least in the US) and things got violent so now this world's bigots just see anyone like this as violent and gas station blower-uppers.\n\nThat's the best I can think of, and it's all total speculation.
