Let's see what happens...\n\nPANINI (from phone): \"Oh, hi, Chowder!\"\n\nCHOWDER (from phone): \"I'M NOT YOUR BOYFRIEND!\"\n\nGENE (thinking out loud, unaware Mimi is behind him): \"I totally relate, Chowder!\"\n\nMIMI (annoyed): \"Oh really!?\"\n\nGENE (Eep): \"Eep!\"\n\nMIMI (annoyed): \"You're right, Gene---I'm wasting my time with you! Maybe I could start to like Tasli instead? Sure he's got a bit of an attitude, but it's endearing in its way ...I guess!\"\n\nMIMI (attempting reverse-psychology): \"And maybe Tasli's kinda cute---he is now that I think about it! Do ya think I should go tell him right now?\"\n\n/Without saying a word, Gene reaches into his hat, revealing Tasli (thus calling Mimi's bluff)/\n\nTASLI (irritable; to Gene): \"This better be good---you know I hate being pulled out of your hat!\"\n\nGENE: \"You'll love it, Tasli! Mimi has something she can't wait to tell you!\"\n\nMIMI (on the spot): \"Oh, hi, Tasli! I-I, uh---that is, I want to say, I, um---\"\n\nTASLI (impatient): \"SPIT IT!\"\n\nMIMI (thinking fast): \"I want to tell you if you go out in the woods today, be sure to watch out for Gomphotherium!\"\n\nTASLI (unimpressed): \"Pfft! I'm outta here!\"\n\n/Tasli retreats into Gene's hat---he cannot be pulled out again today; Mimi breathes a sigh of relief/\n\nGene (chipper): \"Well, I guess that means Tasli's off the hook, too!\"\n\nMIMI (matter-of-fact): \"Tasli was never REALLY on the menu---I was teasing you because I like you, and you tease me back because you like me, too!\nFace it, Gene, you're stuck with me!\"\n\nOh my! O:\n\nI should have prefaced this by saying I'm not a fan of 'Chowder'--I do not watch the show, neither do I intend to start.\nThe idea for this cartoon came from a MrEnter video which may be seen here (link was working 03/03/2025): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HwFBs27b0_U\n\nYes I watch Mr.Enter (what of it?). q:\n\nAnyway... the usual things must be said in this space: I'm still drawing, I'm just not uploading (and that which I'm drawing almost never sees completion). The reason for this is (you guessed it!) the art is bad; I don't know how to draw.\nIt's become embarrassing to put my art on display, so I must do so very VERY sparingly. It's either this way or nothing at all.\n\nPencil...\n\nAn old salesman sample with a Valentine's theme. I have others in this series: one for birthdays, Christmas, Halloween and Thanksgiving (respectively). There were likely others (Easter; July 4th; etc), but those remain elusive (if they exist)."
