"writing": "After returning to Sarydia three days later due to the injury Shade sustained, the two delivered the news to the mercenary's guild and explained that one of them decided to assassinate them both. Given the circumstances, Zhutto and Maurice came to the conclusion that instead of telling the mayor that Solomon has taken control of Thales, that they relay the information to him that The Empire has control of it as well. Kleau and Bernice were in charge of monitoring Thales from this point on to see what can be done about the sudden expansion from a city of thieves.\n\nShade got herself bandaged up and with some aid from her sister, she managed to recover from the stab wound she recieved. She was very lucky as if the assassin had aimed a little bit higher from her position, no amount of magic would have been able to repair or replace her right testicle. Though the fact that had happened still burns her as some cocky foul mouthed mouse was getting the best of her.\n\nThe next task at hand the twins were assigned to was to survey Bailes to truly see what is going on as intel coming directly from some of the Sarydian guards means it came from the mayor. Something that even the guild was having its own trust issues with at this rate.\n\nAfter a two day march to the north, Shade and Kitsuno made their way to where Bailes was along with some aerial assistance from Ivan. Upon further inspection on the location, it is unfortunately true that The Empire had taken control of the fuel depot town. Unsure of what to even do at this rate, Ivan flew back to Sarydia in order to deliver the news while the twins lingered around any nearby towns close to Bailes in order to gather on info as to why the sudden flag change.\n\nUnsure of what The Empire even wants, the twins took a risky chance and made their way into Bailes. While some of the lingering soldiers took notice of them, they minded their own business with the town. Up until one recruiter walked up to them, \"Hail traveling vixens, what brings you to Bailes?\"\n\nNot wanting to give their true intentions, Shade looks up to the tall bear in silver uniform, \"Nothing much sir. My sister and I were just doing some sight-seeing.\" She then looks around to some of the banners hanging around the town. \"We redecorating around here or something?\" The recruit laughs a bit from the obliviousness she gave him, \"Not to say the least we are. The banners we are hoisting up is to show that The Empire has claimed Bailes for assistance in unifying the country together. Our main cause is to do away with the mindless violence that is being thrown around left and right and to show that the red crested wing of a free land flies far.\"\n\nKitsuno stared at the recruiter with hidden shock, (\"Holy crap this guy does not understand what is happening. If The Empire is unifying the country, then why is it being done like this? Why begin taking towns without much warning?\") He noticed the younger twin staring, \"I see I caught your attention miss, might you be interested in joining The Empire and lending us your strength and words to full unification of Druisalle?\"\n\nShe quickly shakes her head, \"No no, I'm good. I'm not great with stuff like this, makes me queasy to my stomach.\" The bear rubs his chin before looking at her bow on her bag. Shade notices his gaze and pats her sister on the shoulder, \"My sister has a point. We do enough as is hunting down direwolves. Blasted things really are a nuisance to where we don't got time to deal with political jargon.\"\n\nThe elder twin then drags her sister away from the recruiter and begin wandering elsewhere into the town. \"Well if you two can tell your friends and family, The Empire is willing to accept them too.\" Shade doubles her pace before getting out of sight from the bear.\n\nThe two spot a small tavern in the town and make their way inside. A grey rabbit barmaid was standing behind the counter and was startled to see the two burst in, but breathes a huge sigh of relief. \"Oh thank goodness, someone who isn't from The Empire.\" Kitsuno walks closer to the rabbit as Shade pulls a seat to sit down on. \"We can say the same.\"\n\nLooking around the tavern, Kitsuno notices that there is a lack of patrons. \"Not a lot going on here, is it?\" The barmaid slumps down on the counter and rests her chin on it, \"Ever since those brutes came around and took Bailes, people have been staying in their own houses. It was so sudden too. Those silver cladded jerks just waltz in one day and decreed that this place now belongs to The Emperor and any resistance shall be dealt with \"reasonably\".\"\n\nShade looks over at the counter, \"So practically overthrown the town by force otherwise those who resist will be killed?\" Kitsuno thinks things over a bit before some other thoughts dawn on her, \"That or are enscribed into their army ranks. Or worse.\"\n\nIt took her sister a moment to figure out what was worse. Then it clicked as she slams a fist into the table she was at. \"That damn serpent. I remember now. Mother fucker has ties with The Empire.\"\n\nThe barmaid raises her head up a bit before brushing her chest off, \"Well, given that you two are the first real customers I have seen within the last two days, may as well treat you to something. Something to drink, a warm meal perhaps?\"\n\nTime passes on as the two chit-chat with the barmaid as she prepared them two warm bowls of meat stew. Something simple as it was one of the few things really available at the moment. Neither Shade nor Kitsuno complained though as the food was filling and delicious to them.\n\nLooking out the window, Shade looked at some of the soldiers patrolling around the town. \"Yeesh... talk about having the place under wraps.\" She turns around to look at the rabbit, \"Charlene, you sure you are going to be okay here?\"\n\nSighing as she sits down at the table with a mug of ale, \"Honestly girls, if nobody is going to come to the tavern with them around, I don't think so. And while the thought that the soldiers would pay a visit here, I dread to know what they will really do.\" She then takes a hugs gulp out of her mug before putting the glace down and swallowing. \"Drunken soldiers are the worse from the horror stories I have been told from other barmaidens.\"\n\nKitsuno shudders before taking a drink of water herself. \"I can only imagine.\" Her sister leans back in her chair, \"Same. And please don't take it the wrong way, you are very pretty looking. However, I at least respect boundaries.\" Charlene blushes a bit from the compliment, \"Why thank you Shade.\"\n\nTheir ears perk up as a loud explosion is heard. Charlene stands up and walks up to the window, \"Oh dear...\" the soldiers that were outside quickly turned around and started running in the direction of the fuel depot. \"They're heading for the fuel depot.\" Shade gets up from her seat and makes her way to the door, \"Kit, you stay here with Charlene. I'm gonna go see what's going on.\"\n\nMaking her way out the door of the tavern, the elder twin follows some of the soldiers towards the depot and begins to smell smoke and burning oil. \"Shit... someone started a fire!?\" As she makes her way closer a few soldiers had turned tail and ran.\n\n\"Evacuate the town! There are fire elementals about, and they are targeting the fuel depot!\"\n\nShade's eyes shoot open upon hearing that. She watched as some soldiers ran up to some of the houses and began knocking on the doors to alert the town. Others bashed the door open one house. This was where a trap had been sprung and a firey blast enveloped the doorway. \"What in the...\"\n\nLaying a few feet from the blast was one of the soldiers, bleeding front the front as the house they rammed into was boobytrapped with explosives near the doorway. One of the other soldiers that was not in the blast rushed to their side and knelt down. Another blast was heard from another house before fire started settling in on the ground floor.\n\nShaking her head, Shade turns around and rushed her way back to the tavern. Bursting through the door she looks at her sister and barmaid, \"Grab what you need. This place is a deathtrap!\"\n\nThe two look at the elder kitsune before Charlene hears another explosion. This makes her run into one of the rooms and start rifling through her belongings. Kitsuno looked out the window before back at her sister with slight panic in her eyes, \"Shade, what the fuck is going on out there!?\"\n\nShade rushed to Charlene to help her grab what she needed as the rabbit pulled out stuff and tossed it onto her bed. \"There are fire elementals attacking the fuel depot. What's more, I think I know why people have not been coming out Charlene. This place was already abandoned and setup with explosives.\"\n\nThe rabbit looks at the kitsune in sheer shock, \"What!? The other people here intended on blowing everything up!?\" The building shakes heavily and the glass windiws shatter as a huge explosion goes off, causing them to cover their ears as the only assumption for that one was the fuel depot's main unit being ignited. Black smoke and dust billows through the open door and windows. Shade quickly closes the door to Charlene's room before the smokey dust filled the air fully. \"Quickly, grab what's necessary and we need to go, NOW!\"\n\nDoing their best with what Charlene had thrown on the bed, the three tie the blanket up and quickly make their way out of the building with all of their needed belongings. The sky was coated in smoke and flames rose where the depot was. Soldiers from The Empire were scattered about as some were alive, but then there were ones who were critically injured or dead. Amongst the smoke, Shade saw one of the fire elementals, a large molten looking golem standing among one of the ruined houses as it held onto soldiers. She was very lucky as if the assassin had aimed a little bit higher from her position, no amount of magic would have been able to repair or replace her right testicle.
