I don't have a technique for it I just brute force it each time so far lol

\n

Number pad

\n
\n

I spent time thinking how to have each number on the keypad be designed rather than just noise. I'm surprised how well I think you can tell most of them apart despite low color and pixel count but no clue how I'd make \"2\" better and not satisfied with that one specifically since it looks like 3 so much, but only so much you can do with 2x3 pixels.
I love the idea to develop a full keyboard of non abstract but exceedingly hard to decipher letters so I can hide pixelart messages in random art/the tiniest of labels. But that's work and it's something I'd rather daydream about than actually do lol.

\n

Mane/hair

\n
\n

As usual always my favorite part to work on is big flowy hair, though not much to say about it specifically other than it's fun how some of the front strands are lit from the window while the back is lit by far off orangey wall

\n

Wall light dither

\n
\n\n

One thing I absolutely adore in aseprite is the dither matrix tool and used it as usual here for the door and wall.
Wanted though to use it for light sources in a way where each would cast a different dither around itself and add em up as needed. Didn't find a good way to do that so I drew em manually instead with airbrush and some dumb manual touchup. Will need to experiment to find a more clever way to cut corners using the matrix tool but very happy with this result either way.

Favorite trick on display on that wall is how well yellow-orange-brown-purple/grey makes for a gradient of lit to dark. Noxid taught me brown is just dark orange and always fun to use that knowledge :3

Posted using PostyBirb
\n"
