"description": "> *A long time ago, the\r\n> Mares of Malevolence rode through the world,\r\n> sucking up all the joy and leaving only the bad\r\n> things. Anger. Hostility. Sadness. Disgust…and so\r\n> much more. They were wild, unrestrained.*\r\n> \r\n> *Bereft of love, affection, benevolence, Beware, beware,\r\n> the Mares of Malevolence!*\r\n> \r\n> *Our world was plunged into\r\n> darkness everywhere they went. They took\r\n> delight in it. Nopony could stop them long\r\n> enough to make them see that what they were\r\n> doing was wrong!*\r\n> \r\n> *But there were some brave, sharp-witted\r\n> ponies who stepped forward to help! They\r\n> tricked two of the Mares into a trap. After a\r\n> long, hard fight, they managed to subdue them\r\n> long enough to make them understand what\r\n> harm they and their sisters had wrought.*\r\n> \r\n> *The two captured Mares were named Surly\r\n> Hooves and Midnight Chicory, and once they\r\n> understood the harm they’d done, they worked\r\n> together to help everypony stop their sisters.\r\n> The Mares of Malevolence were too powerful to\r\n> ever be really destroyed, they said, but together\r\n> they could capture the Mares and send them\r\n> into an eternal slumber.*\r\n> \r\n> *And that’s what they did. Together, the\r\n> ponies and the two reformed Mares built a great\r\n> catacomb somewhere in the Everfree Forest,\r\n> and dressed it up to look like a shrine dedicated\r\n> to them. The Mares of Malevolence reveled in\r\n> their greed and pride, and so naturally wanted\r\n> to see what gifts they were being given and just\r\n> how deeply they were adored. When they went\r\n> in, the trap was sprung. The Mares were sent\r\n> into a magical slumber. The location of their\r\n> resting place was magically hidden, and no one\r\n> has seen them since.*\r\n\r\n> **CERULI-BLUE, MYSTERIOUS BENEFACTOR AND EX-MARE OF MALEVOLENCE (SHE/HER)**\r\n> This Earth pony’s coat is a vivid cerulean,\r\n> and most likely the reason behind her\r\n> name! Her mane and tail are a light shade\r\n> of gray-blue. Her cutie mark is an abstract\r\n> series of white waves, reminiscent of sea\r\n> foam on water.\r\n\r\n> Clever players (or just really good guessers) might\r\n> piece together that Ceruli-Blue is actually Surly\r\n> Hooves, one of the reformed Mares of Malevolence!\r\n> If challenged with this, she tries to deny it but\r\n> eventually admits it if pressed. She shares the\r\n> following with the player characters if they ask:\r\n> \r\n> • She changed her name to Ceruli-Blue when she\r\n> “recovered” from being a Mare of Malevolence.\r\n> She likes it so much better than “Surly\r\n> Hooves” anyway.\r\n> \r\n> • The spell that erased the location in the forest\r\n> also erased her memory of it. She does not know\r\n> where it is.\r\n> \r\n> • She does not know where the other reformed\r\n> Mare, Midnight Chicory, is. Over the many years,\r\n> their paths diverged. Even though they don’t talk\r\n> anymore, Ceruli-Blue still considers Midnight\r\n> Chicory a friend.\r\n> \r\n> • She does not know about the items needed for\r\n> part 2 of this adventure, but she does know they\r\n> are important.\r\n> \r\n> • She is willing to answer what questions she can,\r\n> but in the end, the ponies have the book of myths;\r\n> they have more information than she does. At this\r\n> point, she’s just a pony trying to live a better life.\r\n> \r\n> • She will help as much as she can, but the ancient\r\n> magic still binds her to her sisters and she cannot\r\n> act against them. She is also terrified that if she\r\n> gets too close to them, she may lose herself and\r\n> become like than again. She has vowed never\r\n> again to be the cause of such hurt."
