Today, Lloyd was posted near Gruff’s garden, accepting donations for a new fountain project.\n\n\n“It’s going to look wonderful, sir!” the little gyroid sang as indomitably cheerfully as ever. “Miss Isabelle is right when she says that you are a true innovator!”\n\n\n“Well, I can’t take all the credit,” I admitted. “It was Vladimir that suggested the concept… b-but I was the one who went ahead and approved it! I had every reason not to, but why wouldn’t I?”\n\n\n“It’s mighty expensive, I must say!” Lloyd danced. “Do you think we’ll be seeing it sooner rather than later?”\n\n\n“Maybe it’s best if we don’t…” I muttered. I was still sour after my argument with Alice at the police station and we’ve been avoiding each other since. I can’t get over how harsh she was, especially towards Booker. This conspiracy theory about Vlad too is just bonkers. I’ll admit, when he came to me about the fountain, I was close to ignoring him just to prove Alice wrong. But if I can get this thing donated without his involvement and without her knowing that Vlad was the one who asked about it, then that’ll show her. It’s a fake narrative, sure, but an awfully convenient one.\n\n\nJust then, Simon and a new resident crossed over the river to say hi.\n\n\n“Hey there, cool guy!” Simon waved. “You met Stinky yet?
