"description": "> story\nRed’s Dungeon Diary\nDay 37: Shockworms\n\nThe seventh floor — known by many names such as The Abyssal Pit or The Valley of Storms — is a vast sloping crater, a bottomless hollow carved at the very heart of the great lake of the sixth floor. Water from above endlessly cascades downward, yet from the rim one cannot glimpse the floor below. What greets the eye instead is the dungeon’s signature sight — an eternal tempest.\n\nWhen gazing down, one sees a thick blanket of cloud swirling restlessly beneath, its surface twisting like a colossal vortex. From time to time, flashes of lightning dance within the storm’s heart, and every drop of water descending from the sixth floor is swiftly consumed by this furious maelstrom.\n\nThe winds here are merciless — strong enough to shred one’s breath and fling the spray of water back upward. Those stray droplets become icy drizzles that whip across the faces of explorers daring to descend, a cruel prelude to the storm awaiting below.\n\nTraveling through the seventh floor is a trial in itself. Explorers must carefully descend along the narrow cliff walls that encircle the pit — paths slick with water, treacherously smooth, and perilously cramped. The stone surface offers few holds; one careless step, and the soaked rock gives way, sending the unwary plummeting into the depths below.\n\nOnce past the cloud layer, they enter the heart of the storm. Here, furious winds lash against the body, strong enough to hurl a person off the wall. Sheets of rain whip around, pulled and twisted by violent gusts, while blinding flashes of lightning tear across the gloom. Thunder roars without end. Those who carry too much metal find themselves marked by fate — lightning seeks them with cruel precision.\n\nYet amid this chaos, fortune sometimes grants shelter. Some explorers discover shallow caves carved into the cliffside — rare sanctuaries where they can rest and catch their breath. A few tunnels even lead further downward, allowing safe passage away from the raging tempest.\n\nThis floor also harbors its own native life — strange, storm-born creatures that draw strength from the endless thunder. Many of them can store or release electricity, using it both as sustenance and as a weapon. Among these, the most infamous are the Shockworms — small, burrowing worms that carve tunnels deep within the cliff’s inner stone. Within their labyrinthine nests, hidden from the storm, they thrive.\n\nShockworms are fiercely territorial. Running along their segmented bodies are paired organs capable of generating and discharging jolts of electricity whenever danger draws near. Though their shocks are not lethal, they are powerful enough to numb limbs and disorient victims. When threatened, they attack in swarms — leaping from the stone, coiling around their prey, and releasing bursts of current in unison.\n\nThe surest way to avoid them is to watch the walls closely. Where the stone is riddled with holes, their nests lie near — and that is territory no explorer should cross.\n\nToday, Red finally managed to pass through the waterfall that poured endlessly into the mouth of the Death Pit on the sixth floor. With his climbing gear secured, he fastened himself to the slick cliff wall and began his descent. The misty rain, flung upward by the storm’s violent winds, struck his fur and skin like a whip, cold and stinging.\n\nFinding a sturdy ledge, Red stopped to catch his breath. He pulled off his pack, took out a large explorer’s cloak, and wrapped it tightly around himself — the kind every adventurer carried when facing the storm of the seventh floor. At least this will keep me warm… a little, he thought grimly.\n\nThen he climbed lower, entering the storm’s heart. The wind howled like a living beast, growing stronger with every step. Rain lashed harder and harder, each drop a needle against his body. Lightning burst all around him, and the air itself seemed to hum — his fur stood on end from the static charge.\n\nClinging to the cliffside with all his strength, Red pressed forward, each movement slow and deliberate. After what felt like an eternity, he stumbled upon the mouth of a cave — a dark, yawning space carved into the stone. Relieved, he climbed inside. The tunnel seemed deep, perhaps even a passage leading further down.\n\nHe gathered a few dry twigs from his pack and lit a small fire. Taking off his soaked cloak and shirt, he hung them near the flames to dry. The warmth was a comfort, but then — something caught his attention.\n\nOn the far wall, a round, dark hole gaped open. Red stepped closer, peering into it, but saw only darkness. As his eyes adjusted, he realized there were more — dozens of holes scattered across the rocky walls around him.\n\nBefore he could make sense of it, he felt something crawling along his leg. Startled, he looked down — a plump, wriggling creature was inching its way up his fur. This is... he thought, but before the thought was complete, the worm shuddered violently.\n\nIn an instant, agony surged through his leg — sharp, blinding, and paralyzing. Red collapsed, unable to feel his foot. Gritting his teeth, he grabbed the creature, trying to tear it off — but as his fingers closed around it, another jolt tore through his hand. His muscles locked, refusing to let go.\n\nMore of them were coming. From every hole in the stone, the worms began to crawl out — fat, pale, and writhing. They leapt onto his arms, shoulders, chest, and legs, shocking him again and again. His body convulsed under the storm of electricity.\n\nI should have looked closer before walking into this cave... was his last thought before the darkness swallowed him whole.",

Sheets of rain whip around, pulled and twisted by violent gusts, while blinding flashes of lightning tear across the gloom. Thunder roars without end. His body convulsed under the storm of electricity.\n\nI should have looked closer before walking into this cave... was his last thought before the darkness swallowed him whole."

His body convulsed under the storm of electricity.\n\nI should have looked closer before walking into this cave... was his last thought before the darkness swallowed him whole."
