"description": "So, I know I'm not a \"good\" artist, wouldn't even call myself decent, but I've gotten to a place where I'm actually able to put in a little bit of time to practice, and as such, I'm trying to experiment with some things that I'm not good with. Case and point: humans. I've never been any good at drawing people, and while here I'm absolutely cheating by covering the face, I've been looking at anatomy and trying to at least imitate something approaching realistic proportions. I didn't even try with the feet, as that's something I'm not yet even willing to really try yet (partly because I'm kind of put off by feet- well, human feet, paws are a different story), but I've always struggled with hands. I'm pretending that I did a half-decent job on this one. If any of you lurkers feel the need to offer constructive criticism, I'm eager to hear it- whatever filth I'm putting out should be proof that I need all the help I can get.\n\nI'm finding that I do enjoy this style of hard shadows. It's pretty easy for me to wrap my head around, as I can just doodle an arrow for the light source, and I can imagine where the light will pour from, and just trace those imaginary shadows to what I hope are believable shadows. Of course, sometimes I'll try to make the shadows a little more 'suggestive' rather than truly consistent.\n\nWell, this one gets the honor of being the longest I've so far spent on a single image, by a fairly notable margin, to boot. I'm hoping that the quality shows that I've spent slightly longer on it, but with the quality of slop I'm churning out, I doubt it'll be super-noticeable. I'm just happy that this one isn't painful for me to look at, though I plan on putting more time in practicing, well, I guess a little bit of everything. I've found a pseudo-style that I'm interested in continuing to try out."
