Shifu never adopted Tigress and She is Therefore not actually His Daughter. Eventually what began as a Master/Student relationship for Tigress did change (on an emotional level) to a Father/Daughter relationship. I believe this is how Shifu felt too despite His efforts to keep His heart closed off and stay emotionally distant.\n\nWith Tai Lung however Shifu raised Him from an infant. it was obvious They had a Father/Son relationship.\n\nAll that being said despite Their parental connection to Shifu, Tai Lung and Tigress have no sibling connection (not even an emotional one) to each other. They are in no way related.\n\nI don't even think Shifu took Tigress in until after Tai Lung was in prison. That is why Shifu is so emotionally cold with Tigress.     ",
