With the odds stack so heavily against the poor riolu, there was no escaping the felony charges, and the prison sentence that came with it. </p></div><div><br></div>\n<div><p>The prison itself was far off shore, a man-made island reserved for only the worst, most dangerous criminals. The only way in or out was by boat or helicopter, the latter reserved only for the guard staff and warden. Prisoners had to come in through barge, the ships being built like prisons themselves, with each 'cell' having its own isolated containment system. Like any military grade vessel, the individual cells could be closed off at a moment's notice, hermetically sealed to prevent the flow of ocean water between rooms. </p></div><div><br></div>\n<div><p>Nub found themself in such a cell, restrained in excess, barely able to move an inch. It was bad enough being forced into the skin-tight rubber straitjacket, but the guards fitted a muzzle over their snout under the pretense that the riolu's teeth could be weaponized. Then came the stainless steal chair, bolted to the floor and sporting thick leather harnesses. Once strapped in, Nub could do nothing but whine through the muzzle. </p></div><div><br></div>\n<div><p>The voyage was long, the only sense that time hadn't stopped being the sway of the ship as it crashed through the waves. A deep rumble shook the craft, the up and down of the ship intensifying as a storm brewed above the surface. Towering waves tried to throw the barge, but it held firm on its course. The storm didn't even last that long, the waves starting to calm, but that's when the real disaster struck. The storm had brought in refuse, pieces of a capsized boat, and on the downswing of on of the massive waves the prison barge and ship remains collided with enough force to pierce the hull.</p></div><div><br></div>\n\n<p></p><div>The screech of metal on metal stung the riolu's ears, but that sound was nothing compared to the horrible noise that came after.
