"description": "
Somewhere in the TRW Industries facility is a large-ish room dedicated to exhibits of past achievements and failures, almost like a museum, only some of the exhibits are a little more talkative than you'd expect. You should certainly ignore them though, as they have nothing interesting (or authorised by TRW Industries) to say.
\n\n
Here we have two pieces that show just how hard it is to make a transformative compound that works 100% correctly.
\n\n
The piece on the left (GhostlySerpent's 'Vivian') reads:
\n\n
“Liquid Alchemy B/P-47
\n\n
This batch of Liquid Alchemy was infamous at TRW Industries for being the fastest acting Liquid Alchemy organic-to-metal formula ever created.
\n\n
As you’ve seen in our other displays, our LA formulas are carefully designed by our R&D Department to have specific conversion rates, hardness over time, malleability, and a host of other factors that enable us to create the mould-breaking machines that put TRW Industries at the forefront of Vehicular Transformatives. If one element in this complex web is misaligned, then all sort of intense side effects can occur.
\n\n
LA B/P-47 (Liquid Alchemy Blue/Purple shade 47) was created initially for an exotic after-market parts range. It took 4 months of research time to perfect the colour shade alone!
\nWhen it went into production, a vital element was incorrectly mixed into the batch. This wasn’t an issue to the non-organic parts of the dosing mixer at the time, or the storage containers, and all the way up to application everything seemed perfectly normal.
\nOnce it was applied to the willing* subject here, the mixture was so potent that it instantly turned the organic material into unworkably solid metal and started to convert the non-organic material in the sprayer itself! A quick-processing drone quickly severed the now-fused sprayer from the arm, triggering a floor-wide shutdown.
\n\n
*legally binding copies of consent contracts available to appropriate legal teams.”
\n\n
The piece on the right (RaiBiash) reads:
\n\n
“Liquid Alchemy R-62
\n\n
This batch of Liquid Alchemy was unable to convert all of a mass of organic material to metal, the cause remains a mystery.
\n\n
This batch of LA, for some reason, has been consistently unable to convert more than 62% of a mass of organic material – no matter what the total mass is. Our research drones and super-computers have been unable to theorise why this could be, and as such it remains highly mysterious. Almost the strangest thing is the name was set long before full testing began, not after.
\n\n
This willing* subject here had LA R-62 (Liquid Alchemy shade Red-62) applied to their whole body, and absorption patterns and rates were normal. The material began to be converted to metal and to generate the ceramic colour layer, but the process stalled and slowed to only 62% coverage.
\nMultiple subjects have given the same results – this was the first, so preserved for posterity – leaving different areas unconverted each time.
\n\n
This highlights the complex nature of altering and controlling organic material at the atomic level. TRW Industries’ dedicated, inventive, and thorough research and development process is why our Liquid Alchemy products are the highest quality, and allow unparalleled transformative quality.
\n\n
*legally binding copies of consent contracts available to appropriate legal teams.
