On the same day I finished <a href=\"https://thegreenherring.neocities.org/art/2020/VISITOR\" rel=\"nofollow ugc\">an image sitting on my hard drive for almost a decade</a>, I began an early experiment in doing multiple versions of the same textmode image, starting from the classic <a href=\"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Code_page_437\" rel=\"nofollow ugc\">code page 437</a> and <a href=\"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enhanced_Graphics_Adapter#Color_palette\" rel=\"nofollow ugc\">EGA palette</a> used by ZZT, to <a href=\"https://digitalmzx.com/\" rel=\"nofollow ugc\">MegaZeux</a>'s default character set plus an extra shade of red, and finally with a custom character set and palette.</p>\n\n<p>While merely a generic character at the time I drew this, this kangaroo went on to become Mason Kirk, Agent of the Cyberspace Bureau, who would appear in the ending of <cite><a href=\"https://thegreenherring.itch.io/cyber-purge-zzt\" rel=\"nofollow ugc\">Cyber Purge</a></cite> alongside Agent Gale Fields, and the two of them would return in <a href=\"https://www.weasyl.com/~thegreenherring/submissions/2473695/mason-and-gale-2025\">a massive wallpaper-sized piece</a> in 2025.</p>\n",
