"description": "Gesture sketch of Rarity on the beach looking over her shoulder, all of it drawn in PhotoShop with a Huion KAMVAS Pro 19 and the original stylus.\r\n\r\nThis is the first thing I've ever drawn in PhotoShop with my Huion that felt like drawing on paper with a pencil and oh my gosh it feels so good!\r\n\r\nI found a good teacher who worked me through setting up PhotoShop and a Huion to replicate pencil-on-paper, right down to the brand and weight of pencil and paper, and they also helped me identify a few things I've been doing wrong since college, so this simple sketch took almost 4 hours with lots of \"why is that happening?\" along the way.\r\n\r\nLike, when I draw a downward stroke, my whole arm is involved. I hold the pencil/stylus and my hand static. at 45°, and make the stroke. But when I stroke across - like left to right - my hand is fixed and I just use my fingers and the pencil/stylus goes from 60° to about 20°. The result is a completely different line depending on what direction it's going.\r\n\r\nThey gave me a warmup and exercises that should help with that, but for now I'm 'fixing' that by just rotating the canvas so every stroke is downward. And starting tomorrow I've got a locked workspace with everything the way I want it for 'just sketching'. Heaven.\r\n\r\nTomorrow we're going to tackle \"what the F people are talking about when they say; \"tapering limbs with the side of the pencil\" - something I never understood in college. So ... looking forward to it! \\^\\_\\^\r\n\r\nAlso - my tutor wants to 'fix' my shortstack drawing style and teach me how to eventually include enough spine in my drawings. I told them to get ||fucked||. They said that was entirely in the realm of possibility.\r\n\r\nPic related.\r\n\r\n>>1576333t\r\n\r\nListening to [WAR - Why Can't We Be Friends?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sH0Qda32IKM)\r\n"
