The main figures are created using applique, cut from various scrap cloths and stitched down to create that soft, blended look. The background detail, including the palm tree, flowers, and the lovely heart elements on the side, are brought to life with hand embroidery stitches.\n\nThe entire scene is framed by a bold gold ring (stitched applique) and set against a striking galaxy print fabric, symbolizing the vast, shared destinies of these two rivals.\n\nThis is a long-term passion project of mine, and I hope to eventually turn this square into a full throw blanket.
