That meant many a first to explore, and lots of untouched beauty for far verdant stretches, no less wondrous down on ground than from high-up. As Doni's tail bobbed ahead of hir huge mount, mate, and transportation's thudding steps in the springy grasses, shi felt a nip to its fluff. Then a brump of head at hir spine.</em></p></div><div><br></div>\n<div><p><em>\"You are getting pushy again,\" Doni chuckled, arm lifting as the massive bark-colored bird-beak pushed between it and hir side. </em></p></div><div><br></div>\n<div><p><em>There was a rippling 'khrrrk' in Niko's throat, hir great violet eye fixed on hir. \"And you're getting to smell very nice,\" the horsebird's basso voice retorted.</em></p></div><div><br></div>\n<div><p><em>Doni's eyes rolled but shi couldn't hide the blush-heat in hir cheeks as great nares sniffed hir. \"Want to set down for now?\"<br><br>Hir steed's head bobbed.</em></p></div><div><br></div>\n<div><p><em>Doni's ears twitched at a subtle thumping noise, the blush heating further. \"A brief pause?\"</em></p></div><div><br></div>\n<div><p><em>Niko's great head tilted, both eyes fixed on hir like a hawk to a rabbit.</em></p></div><div><br></div>\n<div><p><em>The cacomistle's tailfur frizzled, hir grin growing at the familiar thrill-chill as shi began setting aside the backpack containing Niko's discarded, biped-form clothes. \"They will be expecting us back at the check-in and you looking your presentable nightvixen self.\"</em><br><em> </em><br><em>\"No search parties this soon.\" Hir beak parted, deep pink tonguetip flexing. Another thump as the solid beam of mottled brown and black between hir hindlegs rapped the taut drum of hir draft hippogryph underbelly, glans belling out before relaxing again. \"I'm not goin' back like this.\"</em></p></div><div><br></div>\n<div><p><em>As Doni's nose twitched this close to hir beastly mate's exertion-flushed, bestial body, hir eyes drifted aside, lower... shi stepped closer, cacomistle </em><em>nosepad touching the curve of Niko's beak, their tongues meeting in a mismatched slide of textures and tastes, Doni shivered with prey-thrill and grinned. \"You are right: You are not. There is no diverting you and I can't have you going back to our guides like this... The duty of a Steed-Handler is vital to the health of hir charge, so let's get my poor big girl gentled down.\"</em></p></div><div><br></div>\n<div><p><em>Foreclaw resting against a large, sturdy boulder, Niko lifted hir other foreclaw and arched hir great wing overhead, exposing hir heated loins, eyes sparkling with hungry anticipation behind the animalistic visage. Doni's smirk grew, ducking into the shade of the draft gryph's wing...</em></p></div><div><br></div>\n<div class=\"align-center\"><p>⁂</p></div><div><br></div>\n<div><p>A splendid commission ordered from <a href=\"https://www.furaffinity.net/user/venlightchaser\" rel=\"nofollow ugc\">Ven Lightchaser</a> for myself and <a href=\"/~doniroux\" class=\"user-icon\"><img src=\"/~doniroux/avatar\" alt=\"\"> <span>DoniRoux</span></a> ; A small gift to commemorate our ten year anniversary. Of myself and Doni, all alone on the road and without prying eyes while we explore my pendant, exhibiting the most natural means of pair-bonding in mount and rider (and hir means of appealing to a big willful-spirited horsebird with one of the most basic of rewards). I grew up in the rough and tumble docks, residentials and ghettos of an aged, sprawling orbital habitat ring that has a tendency to collect and mix drifters, orphans, life's anchors and those with no aim in life. Left the first chance I could and never looked back. ...Well, not more than once. Since then, my main passion's become taking off to distant worlds to explore, delighting in the freedom and independence found a star away. But that's come with a good mix of trouble, characters friendly and fiendish, and adventure that's left many a tale to tell!</p>\n\n<p>These days art's a side hustle to fill flight time between star systems, working as a cargo hauler to keep the lights on in the modest-sized hab station my family owns. I've drawn anthro art as a hobby for just over twenty years, doodled in general even longer. Through it, and writing, I strive to create worlds and characters that captivate, inspire, provoke and excite. All just to leave my little mark on the lives of others!</p>\n\n<p>Bit of a <a href=\"https://www.furaffinity.net/user/greymuzzles/\" rel=\"nofollow ugc\">grey-muzzle</a>, mostly-in-character, ambivert nightvoop who occasionally pops into social arenas and relishes the occasional party. I'm an iconoclast in avoidance of most social network platforms and usually keep to my comfortable friend-circles or in quiet working on my hobbies and games. I love cleverness, provocativeness, and people who give me pause to think and try to give back the same in kind. An eager friend or unrepentant flirt when I like you, and politely blunt if I don't. I pick battles I deem worth it and usually don't hold my tongue if evident truth needs saying, but overall will always try to find consensus in disagreements.</p>\n\n<p>I have drawn anthro art as a hobby since the late nineties and doodled in general even longer.
